In 2009, the first wave of Germgo Hand Sanitizer Stations were placed in Burlington's Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in an initiative to encourage visitors to sanitize their hands. Since then, Germgo has been popping up around various GTA Hospitals offering attractive Sanitizer Station solutions in High Traffic entrances and other locations.

Germgo was founded with the idea that a more robust sanitizer station than the Status quo could be created. More public attention could be gained with high impact visuals. A shelf would make it much more convenient for people to use, too.
Germgo set out to create a sanitizer station that would meet these needs for the public to conveniently wash their hands at the entrance and other high traffic locations.
Prior to founding Germgo, Reg Littlefield has led the successful Wayfinding company Directional Designs for more than 25 years now.
With this wealth of valuable experience and insight directed towards influencing and guiding people in high traffic areas like shopping centres and hospitals, he knew he could make a more effective sanitizing station.
So, a colourful, attention-grabbing sanitizing station was designed to place at the entrance to hospitals to grab visitors' attention and encourage them to immediately wash their hands before proceeding through the building.
Littlefield discovered visitors to hospitals and health clinics are much more likely to use a hand sanitizing solution when leaving rather than entering the building.
